nice to see you enjoy this picture of David "Baddy" Treloar as much as we do...we stopped in our tracks when found it in an old mag...maybe he is falling...maybe pulling out....but for that milli second, captured forever, it is a bitchin shot. We wanted to write you directly, but failed to locate an email. you did not enjoy "Lost In The Ether".... you asked "Am I wrong?" NO. but here is our points of why we enjoy it: 1) we are obsessive compulsive. So the fact that they go over "The Board", from our all time favorite 3 minutes of film, down to the 16th of an inch....and break down some of the waves in slow motion, highlighting how the shape was meant to move through water...bitchin. We all know MP wasn't talkin'... 2) which brings us to an important point. "Lost In The Ether" had MP's voice in an interview with him, speaking about his mindset & intent of how he wanted to surf, or Dominate. something that the highly anticipated "Seaching for Michael Peterson" did not have. how lame. Am I Wrong? again, all MP is quoted for is, "It's like cheating mate." "I could say....but I won't." 3) Garth Dickenson is a nutty surfer. his couple of minutes in "Glass Love", on the red twin....oh man, fan-fucking-tastic. So, it is fascinating to see him trying to feel out a new board, falling & struggling. then kinda clicks on a couple of the last ones. yeah, Mick's boards are pretty intimidating looking... but, hey, at least he is trying new materials....think about it, if nobody historically messed around, we would still be riding kookboxes...(or, funny enough, to come full circle, alaias) 4) we dig the "Dreamboard" too
buuuuuut....yes, the slow motion, emotion invoking stuff....if you regularily look at our deal.....you hear the kinda music we dig. and it seems this shitty modernist folk junk is pervasive. almost like, if you have a beard, ride a single fin, spill some paint..you have to listen to it. oh shit, we ramble.....sorry....but, thank you
